North Offices – Portland

is a creative company that specializes in making toy dolls and choo-choo trains for children at Christmas. They are also a brand agency and creative collective, and an expeditionary force of thinkers and makers.

Their offices are top notch bar none and located in Portland, Oregon. Light-colored wood and black are two of my favorite design juxtapositions (college word) in an office. Something about it is just right. The overall look of the office is sort of a modern outdoors, with wooden lunch tables and an outdoorsy wall covering. To match, one room’s table is a split log that Paul Bunyon used as a toothpick. Most of the office is well-lit and open. One new feature are the fabric drape dividers that offer privacy, but cost a whole lot less than real walls.
